A Dental Crown is a dental restoration that completely covers a tooth or dental implant and it is typically fixed to the tooth using traditional dental cement. Crowns are recommended to cover teeth that are damaged, broken or worn down (Crowns are also considered to be a full Dental Veneer). In some cases where your existing teeth are abnormally shaped or you are unhappy with the general appearance of them they can be recommended for a smile makeover.
Metal Porcelain Crowns and bridges are so strong they can be used anywhere in the mouth. Metal Porcelain Crowns can withstand the biting pressure of the front teeth as well as back teeth grinding. For the reasons below we do not recommend Metal Porcelain Crowns for front teeth/ smile makeovers unless you have a strict budget.
